The actor is fine, but they have taken a lot of things out that made Katara, Katara
plus, you have to realize, the problem with Live Action trying to be "true" to the characters is they have to stick to a certain "role" so when your going for young you get people who's previous are roles like
lost kid
paper seller
little sister
little boy
and thats if they have any previous experience at all, its not just make believe, there's a lot of pressure, so on that principal alone, I cannot in good mind judge the acting. Yes it does look as though the actress has had at least one kinda "big" role, but she has 4 known roles to her name, and most apparently aren't even worth mentioning the characters name.
and its even worse for Aang.
Men cry in the inside for sure, LOL
I wish Jaby could articulate what he is looking for in Katara. Because all I am hearing is "i don't like her" that tells a person nothing. Is she too bright when she should be more somber. Is she over acting scenes. We must remember Katara changes over the course of the three books. Despite what people believe. Sokka doesn't change much over the three books. What I means is. Katara is suppose to be growing in power over book 1 in water bending. I am seeing scenes where the actress is over playing lacking confidence and switching to being over confident. I am trying to decide if it is acting or directing.
Starting a petition to get Jaby to do an entire reaction using Bumi's voice…
Leaves from the vine at the end in the background broke me. I hope it comes back in season 2.
Achara get some Afrin nose spray. It will help tremendously
You guys missed the “SECRET TUNNELLLL” song?
Keep pumping these out! Cant get enough. This series has surpassed my, albeit cautious, expectations.
Leaves from the vine ochestral version got me ?
Are you two are going to react to Hazbin hotel?
Zuko and Iroh and the rest of the Fire Lord's family is whyi need a s2, 2nd reason would probably Sokka and Suki.
I bet you didn't catch the tune when Zuko was talking to Iroh during the wake/funeral…( : ____ 🙂
I LOVED EVERY CHARACTER except Katara. But to be fair, i didn't like her much in the cartoon version until Toph showed up anyway LOL so if they give us a few more seasons I think Katara can shine.
They made it way better with Zoku and Iroh, my favorite moment in the animated series spoilers
was Zoku when he reunited with uncle Iroh and he hugged him.
I don't know why the flashback of Iroh in this episode really got me like the reunion between Zuko and Iroh in the series .
hope its 4 seasons
Love thing makes sense. Sibling love is much stronger than Romantic love at that age.
i think the acting is generally so stiff. and a lot of green screen is WAY TOO obvious and it takes me out of it a lot.
Exactly the same with Jaby
Not happy with katara
Cuz the acting I think
Shes kinda phony 2 me
And the most important
The flashback between Zuko& Iroh tear me up af?
I like Katara. What is the actress’s fault? She is working with the material she has been given. The onus is on directors and writers.
So is no one going to acknowledge that OmaShu is now a lesbian couple? I like how they didn't even mention it, but they're referred to as "she" and "her". I like the change, just wondering how no one noticed lol. The animated show makes a point to say they were a man and a woman.
I lost it when I heard the notes from "Leaves From the Vine"…actually wept.
i agree with the casting of Katara. Im just not feeling and i really expected more.i am definitely warming up to Sokka though! You can tell the actor is growing into his role with each episode. The actress of Katara is good at conveying empathy and….blandness. i need more from her! I noticed in a lot of scenes it looks like she's just kind of standing there…..idk! And her facial expressions as well is defintely something that needs work. She's too timid for Katara who was kind but also stern and feisty. Right now the way Kiawentiio is portraying her feels very one-dimensional. I hope if we do get a season 2 she will be better since she's older as well by then
You both are some of my favorite people. Thank you!
I dont like the shift in Bumi they did for this. It was really nice for him to be the friend/mentor for Aang, testing his mettle before he gave him encouragement and insight he'd need to keep going with his mission as the Avatar as it relates to this current era. They kinda did him dirty by making him genuinely resentful.
The earthbenders arent nice to their fallen foes because of 100 years of Fire Nations scorch earth war tactics especially hunting down any type of element benders so Iroh sows what his nation reaps.
This shit sux
I understand what you're saying about Katara, She is missing that fearsome aspect to her character, It feels like the other characters are over shining her a bit.. Although by the end of this series she grew on me. I cant wait to see her character develop more on the next season. Thanks for the reaction guys.
The lu ten funeral made me tear up too
Literally the emotionally hardest episode in this series
They reallu neutered Bumi, didn't they? Both character and makeup. You LITERALLY could see the prosthetics and a younger actor. Hard to believe they didn't try a pre-serum Captain America or even a Kung Fu Hustle digital effect.
Zuko, sokka and Iroh are my standouts of the show. They really nailed their characters
This episode was one heck of an emotional coaster. ??
Aw Achara is crying on zuko and uncle iroh, i wish I could give you a hug achara it is emotional??? btw omashu island looks breathtaking and it is very interesting they united both Asians and indians in the episode.
The netflix adaptaion is really good, but i think 10 episodes would have been better… everything feels kinda rushed and we barely see any actual traveling or training. It weirdly feels more like fasttraveling from plotpoint to plotpoint in a videogame… sure it tells you the story, but i dont really get the feeling of a journey full of adventures like with the cartoon
It’s amazing how many storylines they put in one episode and it works. Plus My Cabbages! lol.

I'm having a difficult time getting into the show. I do not mind the merging of side-quest story lines all that much, though some of get a bit busy. What I'm really having a problem with is seeing many of the actors as the characters they're portraying.
The darker tone in this is real good. Especially between Zuko and Iroh at the funeral scene. My favorite episode so far. Especially if it got Jaby emotional then you know it's doing it's job. Awesome reaction you two ?????
This comment actually maks sense cause even in the cartoon, most of us had a love/hate relationship with Katara rmr? I think in each season but she was always lovely to watch
