Poll Shows ’94 Per Cent’ of People Don’t Want Labor to Control Smart TV App Orders
In a recent survey conducted by a leading research firm, it was revealed that an overwhelming 94 per cent of people do not want the Labor government to have control over ordering apps on smart TVs. The poll, which surveyed a diverse range of individuals from different age groups and demographics, highlights the growing concern about government intervention in consumer technology.
The Survey Results
The survey results were quite clear and unequivocal:
- 94 per cent of respondents expressed their opposition to Labor’s proposed control over smart TV app orders
- Only 6 per cent of respondents supported the idea of government influence in this area
These findings indicate a strong public sentiment against government interference in the digital domain, especially when it comes to personal choices and preferences.
Impact on Consumer Freedom
The overwhelming opposition to Labor’s proposed control over smart TV app orders reflects the deep-seated concern for consumer freedom. People want to have the freedom to choose and access the apps they prefer without any external interference, especially from the government.
The survey results clearly highlight the widespread desire for unimpeded consumer choice and autonomy.
Implications for Innovation
Another significant aspect of the poll findings is the potential impact on innovation and competition in the smart TV app market. Government intervention in app orders could stifle innovation, limit consumer choices, and create barriers for new entrants.
- Unfettered consumer choice promotes healthy competition among app developers and providers
- Government control could lead to a monopolistic environment, restricting innovation and diversity in the market
These implications raise concerns about the potential adverse effects on technological progress and diversity in the smart TV app ecosystem.
Public Opinion and Government Policy
The overwhelming opposition to Labor’s proposed control over smart TV app orders underscores the importance of aligning government policy with public opinion. It is crucial for policymakers to consider the views and preferences of the general public before implementing any measures that could impact consumer choices and digital freedoms.
Public opinion should be a guiding force in shaping government policies related to technology and consumer rights.
Need for Industry Consultation
Given the significant public resistance to Labor’s proposed control over smart TV app orders, there is a growing need for industry consultation and collaboration. App developers, smart TV manufacturers, and consumer rights advocates should be actively involved in shaping policies that affect the digital landscape.
- Industry stakeholders can provide valuable insights and perspectives on the potential impact of government intervention in app orders
- Consultation with industry experts can help policymakers make informed decisions that promote innovation and consumer welfare
Industry consultation is essential to ensure that government policies align with the needs and interests of all stakeholders in the digital ecosystem.
Conclusion
The overwhelming public opposition to Labor’s proposed control over smart TV app orders reflects a strong desire for consumer freedom, innovation, and industry consultation. Policymakers and government officials should take heed of these sentiments and prioritize policies that respect consumer choices and promote a competitive and diverse digital marketplace.
It is imperative that government actions in the digital domain are aligned with public opinion and industry consultation, fostering an environment that encourages innovation, competition, and freedom of choice.
We are not a comnust country Sak ALBO and gbc is best for the country 😂😂😂😂
Unbelieveable Are you going to commie
Time to break out of our world famous apathy Aussies! Let's remind them that they work for us, we are not subservient to them.
If you own a TV, and worse still you watch TV, then you are already controlled.
Get rid of the tv people
SKY pretending that their business interests are important to me. ThEy are not, or to anyone else besides SKY.
What a waste of time and resources!! People aren’t stupid – we watch what we want – not just press the first button that comes up when the TV is turned on!! With everything currently going on – what a great and important issue to be focused on!!! 😡
So who are the 6% who think this is a great idea?
Certainly the same brain dead fu<kwits who:
(a) Are quadruple vaxxed
(b) Are still wearing face nappies in their cars
(c) Voted Yes in the referendum.
Communism.
George Orwell wrote a book about this… but I think he meant it as a warning, not as an instruction manual
It would be really nice if the government concentrated on actually running the country.
They’ve learned nothing from the flogging they were given during the voice train wreck – this proved that they think that the rest of us are stupid and mindless and that they are the source of all wisdom and righteousness. So now, we – the stupid, dumb public – need to be told by them what to watch on TV. Do you ever remember are more arrogant, pompous and condescending government in this country ?
I think people have forgotten governments role in society.
What does free to air tv exist !!, I haven’t watch that rubbish for decades, I watch what I want, not what some twats want 😡,
Another millions to be wasted on this Smart TV project
Weak, sneaky conniving human beings seek to control everything, because they haven't the skill, talent and expertise to stand up without deception and merit… That's socialism
This bloke is the worst liar.
They have no hope of controlling my tv ,still have the cathode ray tube tv so the Marxists/Communist party fail there
Can someone tell this Clown that welcomes " Every Dollar Spent On Australian TV Production ", that they are not high quality dramas, but mind numbing cheap productions like Big Brother, Google Box, etc., etc., . Just shows how out of touch he is, and how brain dead people are watching this rubbish.
I have not watched free to air tv at home sine 2020
The other 6% voted YES. Lol
Rapidly becoming a Nanny State.
Oh how dare the government provide healthy competition by providing free to air tv apps along with apps from fake news channels like this one, Caleb. We all know the Murdoch clan hates competition.
😉
The meaning of “ownership” needs to be clarified in the law if stuff like this continues. If I buy a TV should be able to use it as I like, if govt and manufacturers want to control how I use it then I certainly don’t own it.
It would be nice if the Government would govern for the 90% rather than for the other 10%. Smaller Govt costing less money, that's what we all want.
I want a smart government…one we have at the moment is 1970's legacy dumb.
Just buy a bigger shovel Albo and keep digging.
Sky need to be contorl asap
Albo's next distraction..after Voice, misinformation, rugby o/s, …ffs…😮
Surveillance Device Act legislation through Government

The labour government really r the most ridiculous yet, we r all struggling with electricity, gas, high cost of food, petrol etc & his wants to control our TV, seriously I’m lost for words at the idiocy of Albanese. Free to air TV only shows repeat after repeat of a movie & reality shows, they honestly don’t care about their viewers. 🤬🤬
Albosleezy … always acting against Democracy and the freedom of Australians … between the countless / endless CARBON BELCHING foreign trips. WELL DONE TO THOSE IDIOTS WHO VOTED HIM IN.
It's a socialist move – they always like to control the propaganda. If they get their foot in the door on this, it will go on and on eventually government control over everything you say and do. This country desperately needs a Constitutional "Bill of Rights".
Labour wants you to die.
GET IT IN YOUR HEAD FOLKS
We just DONT WANT LABOUR!
We don't want Labor period. They are Traitors.
Don't you mean 94% of people just don't want Labor. Or Liberal for that matter. Bunch of thieving plicks.
