Saw it in 70mm imax film. Was an amazing experience.
Quick note on why they called it the “Gadget”. It was for security reasons not moral ones.
Sorry Mr. Boyd. I’m avoiding this one til I see the movie myself.
The thing is, the achievements of Oppen would have occurred regardless. So the danger the weapons are to the world would still exist. maybe not as soon. But inevitably it would have happened.
I hope this movie will take home all the Oscars.
I loved the first half of this movie, but it got kind of long in the second half.
There are two overlapping stories being told; J. Robert Oppenheimer's is in color and that of Lewis Strauss is in Black and white.
I took the world has been destroyed quote as the fact that it is inevitable. Just the fact these weapons exist, it has to happen, eventually.
Can you go through the Christopher Nolan movies?
Awesome
I watched this for the first time and it instantly is in my top 10 favorite movies
This film reminded me, what the experience of a movie in a theater can be.
I knew you would love this movie. This movie was surprisingly good. It was engaging and turned something incredibly complex into an approachable, human story. I did not know to expect this when I just picked out the longest movie to see in a cold theater on a 100° summer day.??
Reactors that pause the film to explain shit are shit tier channels. You are completely throwing off the pacing of the film as you watch it. Get better at multitasking.
Didn't know you had a movie reaction channel! Glad I found it!
I saw this in a local theatre. IMAX would have been an amazing experience but even in my local theatre this was stunning. The presentation of the entire thing is so captivating.
I've seen this 3 times at IMAX, regular theater and in my room lol. Fantastic in all viewing methods. It's a masterpiece in every aspect. The graceful discordance in the music, the sound and lack of it, the actors' performances, the lighting, the script…I have never geeked out over a movie this intensely before lol. It better win all the awards
Saw it in 70MM IMAX at the AMC Universal CityWalk, just how god intended.
Not just film, in was entirely shot in 70MM IMAX. If I'm not wrong, it's also the first movie shot in B&W IMAX film.
Youre a lot snarter than i thought you were brother great reaction.
Watching this in imax was a cool experience
The film itself for IMAX reached capacity weight for the projectors. So that means Nolan had to edit this down for logistical purposes. It is definitely a filming feat and a great story. If you care to read the book that the script is adapted, "American Prometheus".
the whole movies was shot in imax film camera
there was zero cgi in this movie
Of all the great things about this movie the sounds design is what solidified it as an all timer for me, just beautiful attention to detail
LOVE your phrase “this is disrespectfully good.” A complete oxymoron and yet it makes perfect sense.
Nobody was “softening” anything, the device was literally called Gadget. It was the implosion mechanism not the entire bomb.
