Argylle Reviews are out and while I wanted to like this movie, my suspicions from the trailer seem to have come true. Henry Cavill is barely existent within the movie, instead focusing on a woman with a cat writing. While that is more applicable to a growing number of people in the nation, it's not exactly the best base for a spy comedy. Knight and Day is what I wanted, instead even the plot of this movie is complained about as too many twists, in an overlong movie than everyone was begging to end. A shame given it's Kingsmen routes, but I have a feeling they were aimed at entirely different audience. One which wont save Hollywood, despite them being the ones Hollywood wants to cater to. But what do you think? Let me know your thoughts down below and as always, thanks for watching 🙂
That really too bad. A film by Matthew Vaughn .. action adventure spy stuff?!? … it only seemed like this would be amazing.
Really sad to hear this movie is turning out to be poo
Let’s hope Matthew Vaughn gets it right with Kingsman 4
Fun fact .. I work for a watchmaker in their promo department and we were considering whether or not to bring in some of the new Bremont Argylle watches (yes .. there’s 3 official watches made by Bremont, a British watch maker brand who also did the Kingsman watch). They’re a significant investment .. and I was on the side of “Oh this movie is made by the same guys who did Kingsman? .. it’s gonna be massive, let’s get them in stock!”
Yeah … changing my mind about that now. And it’s too bad … really nice watches.
If anything this movie may be a better audition of sorts for Henry to be the new Bond but idek how many hits this guys gonna be able to take after DCEU and Witcher. Fingers crossed for his Warhammer and Highlander projects to work out well.
I wonder if there's an alternate version? Argyll: The Good Cut. It's just all of the scenes with Henry Cavill. It's a short film, but it's still satisfying. Like a bottle of your favourite beer on a hot day.
The sad thing is that Rockwell and Cavill really did well for the first portion. But the minute we get to the vineyard and we have to buy the fact that Howard is an action star, when she looks like she can't throw a punch and Vaughn is purposefully making directing choices to cover up how bad she really is, it all goes to crap. It ripped audiences out of the stylish and cool spy film that Vaughn can do and simply became as overly silly as the last few Pierce Bronson's Bond films.
I just watched the "Beekeeper" and one thing I do NOT want to do is get intimate with the Fat, Ugly, Big Mouthed female lead. I can get that anywhere. Shudder. Who needs reality when you go to the movies.
The Rolling Stone comment referenced at about the 11:47 mark was great, even though it came from, you know, Rolling Stone. Similar comments have probably been made before, but it was the first time i had heard it, so I really enjoyed it.
Why cant a movie just be a good fun watch anymore. I saw this last night, and really enjoyed it. I had fun and laughed out loud. I'm getting really sick of these culture wars were all people do is criticize.. going to the movies should be fun give it a rest.
Knight and Day was a good movie. I liked it even though Cameron Diaz looked like she had the flu the whole movie, really sweaty but not in a good way. This chunky writer in peril is not something I'd watch. Maybe somebody will do a supercut of just the Cavill stuff and the fight scenes.
This movie really feels like monkey paw strangling me. Theres nothing that would make me root against it other than henry getting a raw deal(to be fair, thats in expected bingo in the middle). Original ip, drawing inspiration from stuff from 80s while not mimicking or modernizing it to girlboss jaadijaa. And outcome is mid at best
"Swifties" LOL There's your first context clue. WTF do Taylor Swift drones have to do with this movie? Am i missing something here. So basically it's just an attempt at a very slightly more serious (very slightly) Melissa McCarthy movie. Personally, i can't blame Cavill for taking the pay check. Until after i review his 40k series that is. ;P
Huh…The plot I imagined for this movie, which would have been the writer's dimension somehow crossing over into the Spy's dimension and them having to work together to defeat the baddies, would actually have been much more entertaining than the real plot. (A bit like Ink Heart, but with spies.)
The trailer DOES make Dua Lipa look really hot. That's really the only thing it had going for it, and I had no desire to see it before, now after listening to your time I am somehow even less interested.
Just saw Argylle today. First half was decently fun, second half was a mockery. Ridiculous enough that if we weren't with friends I might have walked out.
When I saw the first few seconds of the trial I was so excited thinking it was going to be a fun silly spy movie with an homage to that 60 spy movies and Tv. Then i saw it was about a book character and was a shitty chick flick. They did this exact same movie with Sandra. Unlock and Channing Tatum
GRRM sure is one to talk about flopping films. Considering that his inaction caused one of the biggest flops of all time, he's arguably the number one expert on the topic.

Wife and I just saw it.
It’s not a terrible movie.
It’s a cute date movie that my wife enjoyed a bit more than me.
I’ve hated most bullshit Hollywood has produced in recent years. This is far from the worst they’ve done.

It looked hilarious, I love a good Bond spoof
THE BIGGER THE STARS THE BIGGER THE FLOP

People over think…over criticize movies nowadays…i go to the movies for the enjoyment and i liked this movie.
It was pretty obvious a bait and switch.

What is this love affair with Henry Cavill? He hasn't led a successful movie yet.

he is a ending scene in the movie watch it! argylle is their !
We need a Man From U.N.C.L.E. 2
I could tell but I appreciate the confirmation. Thank you.
Poor Henry. He gets good roles and then the writers and directors screw him over. I can’t wait until he gets to be in charge of the 40k universe
I just watched the "Beekeeper" and one thing I do NOT want to do is get intimate with the Fat, Ugly, Big Mouthed female lead. I can get that anywhere. Shudder. Who needs reality when you go to the movies.
The most disturbing thing I took from this video was the idea of Grace Randolph on a date. ?
Save your money for “Ministry of Gentlemany Warfare.”
Henry Cavill is an amazing actor and person who is stuck in a trash world that hates people that look like him and have any integrity like him.
Sorry, I was too distracted by Dua Lipa. Glad someone is paying attention.
Lost City with Sandra Bullock actually did this whole "writer gets some REAL adventure" trope pretty good. This one looks awful though.
CCP Cena is enough for me not to see it.

I would not trust Rolling Stone for reviews. They've been caught doing all sorts of fishy reporting.
Plot twist: The Mary Sue is an AI bot.

Darn. I was hoping it was going to be good. Well, at least there's always hope for "The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare".
I've just exited the cinema. It's below mid. Too much cringe for my taste.
Rolling stone review kinda based

I watched the "Beekeeper". So glad I didn't even give Argyle a glance.
"Swifties"
LOL

So this is the decade of Cats in movies = Movie Bombs

The worst part is BDH was fucking hot not that fucking long ago.
Now she is just HOGGED out.
I saw Argyle before this video, it was a lot of fun and I would recommend it.

That’s too bad. I thought it was going to be a “new Bond” series starring Cavill.
Bond. …. Trans– BOND. …. ? Spy .. Cat..
Just saw Argylle today. First half was decently fun, second half was a mockery. Ridiculous enough that if we weren't with friends I might have walked out.
Henry Cavill keeps getting the short end of the stick, what a waste

Jesus tap-dancing Christ, that article…phew lads! ?
Such a shame. I like Henry, but gave up on female-led shows and films 8 years ago.
They're too predictable and poorly written.
You are hilarious. I love your reviews and they are so “on point.” Thank you. Here is a thumbs up and a little $$$.
Those teeth though…
Thanks!
