I remember this highly critically acclaimed movie, but saddened because the bully showbiz media/columnist then just focused on criticizing, bashing & bad pressed Ms. Snooky Serna as the jinx and predicting that the movie will be flop, even if they described this as one of the best in that year & worse, before the movie even was released in theaters. The showbiz media columnists were powerful "bullies" back then, calling SS as "pagong" this after she was brave enough to speak up about her Bipolar Disorder & Anorexia diagnosis, a brave first in showbiz considering the traditional stigma one attach to mental health disorder in our Filipino Maritess society even up until now.
Yet, time is a truth teller and shown how both lead stars shone on their own with this very classic dark and often taboo movie theme, especially during this era.
This movie reminds me of Charo Santos and Jay Ilagan "Kisapmata" ( true story ) It is very disturbing but there are really some situation like this…incest. There's a lot of inocent children being molested by either father or relatives. It is a sad one.
