Maybe 75% of people don’t think it’s a problem because they haven’t experienced or don’t know anyone who has openly shared their experience with DV. How else would we know if it’s a problem or not? Give us some useful stats at least.
Define “problem”.
Define most Utahns.
Just ONE person who is a victim of domestic violence IS A PROBLEM!
The twenty five percent are people that have experienced DV or know someone who has.
Of people don’t think it is a problem or don’t know it is a problem, maybe it is only a problem in your mind. As a good woke liberal however, I am sure you will have no problem manipulating it into a problem that you have a solution for.
The Reason why over 75% of your state does not believe in D. V. Is because their religion promotes. It allows it to happen. Thus it cannot be as long as the male says he's doing it for god. Hey they allow polygamy again what do you think. Don't you think that might be a problem allowing the abuse of more women.
Don't forget about the men being abused
Not that different in the rest of the WORLD. People abuse each other a lot.
I have heard that Stats show 4 out 5 women are in abusive relationships. In Utah. Patriarchal systemic cover-up. Especially in Draper Utah. Does Bishop and steak leaders will go to any extent to not came a family by reporting domestic violence. The council given to the victim is appalling . All DV needs to be reported outside of a bishops office to local authorities.
Literally every woman I met here has experienced incest or rape from a family member
Not to mention the LDS church has their hands in this belief. Women and children are taught to accept their situations – ie their abuse – because it is dealt by a man. The father. The ‘leader’ of the household. Utah has had multiple family annihilator cases that reached nationwide news. All completed by LDS men. Watts, Haight, many more. Somehow LDS folks read those stories and turned a blind eye to their cruelty because there is no accountability. The Haight father’s obituary states he “cherished” his family. I think there is context that is needed.
I totally agree with what you're saying. Welcome to the Beehive state.
what do you want me to do?
In Utah if you walk your dog in the wrong spot you will be ticketed from a police officer and you must appear in court!! Doggie doo doo is more important than domestic violence in Utah a very strange place to live!! For many different reasons??????
Mormon church suppresses so many things.
This makes it easier for people to be dismissed if they bring it up.
"Uncomfortable to talk about these issues"?!???
I lived in Utah for 2 years and people were very suppressed, they rarely showed emotions of any kind.
No,no…..the big,big problem in Utah , as in alllll the rest of America, is VIOLENCE AGENST THOSE WITH GENDER DYSPHORIA…….
It's really too bad that so many people live under a rock or just comfortably bask in a sea of apathy and ignorance.
One domestic violence case is one too many.
