Movie would have been significantly better if the other spider-men hadn't come into the main universe. They could have had cameos at the end when the cured villains are reunited with them or whatever but bringing them along just derails the arcs of multiple villains. Sandman turns evil for no reason and Doc Ock vanishes for a half hour to do a villain fake-out. They have to do this to even the scales because if the other spider-men show up and Sandman and Ock stick around then they just roll the other villains with zero issue
Ned the 3rd wheel that never gets resolved is odd for this series to have teenage rom com elements is a negative take away…Mason is right with the writing take
Spider-Man is one of my favourite fictional characters ever. My favourite superhero, I own all the movies he’s ever been in, the spectacular spiderman tv show and a lot of the omnibuses both classic and new. I heard someone say this was the best film they’d ever seen walking out of the cinema and I see many rank this film so high and I just lose my mind haha. This film is just mid. I don’t get it. Not well written, full of forced fan service and sketchy plots that actually will greatly hurt this Spider-man running around the mcu in the future and the things those stories can do or will have to work around. It was not worth it for that consequence imo. My favourite thing that happened in the film was Daredevil turning up. If the best thing about your film supposed to be about Spider-man is someone else showing up you have a problem. To me it’s a weak 7/10 or maybe a 6-6.5/10. Hopefully we actually get back to Spider-Man being a friendly neighbour in actuality again like in Homecoming ffs, it’s been 7 years. I am glad we got to see Andrew Garfield again though I’d still rather them not have done that, multiverse stories are so contrived, ridiculous and ruin the stakes unless it’s in the hands of brilliant writers which this film was not.
If I was to rank all the spiderman films it would be 1) Spider-man 2 2) Homecoming 3) Spider-Man 4) Into the Spider-verse 5) Across the Spider-verse 6) The Amazing Spider-Man 7) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 8) Spider-Man No Way Home 9) Spider-Man 3 10) Spider-man Far From Home
I always thought it was strange that the original goblin antidote just… didn't work? It was just a dud for no reason, which feels wrong from a writing perspective. My theory is that in the original script, the antidote would have backfired and further mutated the goblin mutagen, transforming him into the comic-accurate fleshy goblin rather than the man-goblin we got. For whatever reason that was scrapped, but the dud serum stayed in. I'd still love to see a "traditional" Green Goblin in live action for once.
Honestly, there was room for one movie in-between Far From Home and No Way Home, with Peter’s identity revealed, he is now on the run as an outlaw. Scientist Alastair Smythe is tasked with building “Spider Slayers”, which accumulates into a prisoner volunteering as a human test subject to become a Spider Slayer. That prisoner? Mac Gargan. So, it would have been a movie of Spider-Man on the run, Scorpion seen as a heroic match to Spider-Man, only to reveal his true motives. Have that then lead into No Way Home where now Peter wants his identity secret again and visits Strange.
I HATE how the mind erasing works. And by that I mean on how ambiguous it is. There's so many different ways it could be done. They can't send him back to high-school… he'll be in his 30's it's gonna be stupid. ?
The symbiote left over at the end for me just means someone else in the MCU will become venom and already now has an interest in Spider-man likely means it's coming for him first – as it's supposed to in order to inherit the Spider-Man traits – then a new actor will be the new MCU Venom, not Tom Hardy, since he's essentially now a good guy after his 2 films and upcoming third. The one Spider-Man comes up against will need to be evil first and likely then becomes his friend to fight carnage or some shit.
Apparently, if Dr. Strange MoM came first, that movie would have ended with the Evil Strange taking the place of our Strange, so, the Strange in this movie who causes everything to go wrong would have been the evil Strange.
I like how Lizard is such an insignificant presence in this whole thing, I never see anyone in conversation about this movie bring up the fact that he inexplicably just has a British accent?!?! Because Rhys Ifan clearly couldn't be fucked to put on the American one he used and was just in it for the paycheck, probably recorded all his lines in a couple hours before being handed a giant Monopoly bag size of money, and literally no one cares!
I am TASM2’s number 1 fan and I wanna address a complaint I had with this movie, specifically electro. Jamie Foxx’s performance I this movie is a totally different character from his excellent performance in TASM2. In TASM2 Electro is a man desperately seeking attention and acceptance. In this film, Fox just plays electro as a cool guy who loves power. It doesn’t carry any of the nuance he had in his film, and it feels like they just brought him into be cool guy Jamie Fox. I think that’s also part of why he is De-bluified.
QUESTION: If Peter Parker didn't notice the spider bite and wasn't a super genius who thought to make web shooters, how do think he would've themed himself? He'd have strength, reflexes, and the ability to climb walls. Maybe he'd be more like a ninja or something.
This was such a weird movie, even for an MCU spectacle–it really wasn't that great a movie (it was the third best recent film about Spider-Man dealing with the multiverse) but it was brilliant as pure fanservice. And even though we were supposed to be tired of that kind of thing, and we mostly are tired of that kind of thing, this one time it worked.
Andrew Garfield and Willem Dafoe were the MVPs here, but the other odd element they didn't really mention was Jamie Foxx's Electro getting more or less retconned into a cooler Electro. They really gave him a bigger part than Doc Ock.
Why do people think the mcu will have its own green goblin or doc ock. The past movies have exclusively used new villains not seen before on the silver screen, and this movie outright confirms that none of these villains exist in the mcu
At first, really liked No Way Home. But, after seeing it a few times, have slightly soured on it. I feel the “real” Spider-Man doesn’t show up till the last ten minutes of this movie. To me, this means Homecoming, Far From Home and most of No Way Home is one massive origin story for a character we barely get any time with.
The film is pretty good, but I also was not blindly praising it when it came out. Treating it like it’s the next citizen Kane or something. I think it has glaring flaws, and most of those flaws come from the fact that it was shot during Covid times. The film looks very fake, chopped up, like it’s made up of sets/blue screens/green screens, and like large chunks of the film were cut out. The writing is also very hand wavy and carried by performances, action sequences, and fan service. The film just looks and feels like it was made during COVID and that it was restricted in many ways. Honestly would have preferred them to wait and make it at a later date. You can tell how much better it would have been if it was made today. It’s already a pretty decent film, but it would have been perfect and probably the best spiderman movie if done at a different time.
23:01 I still can't understand that the Parkers live a Few Floors up but yet Someone can angle aim and toss a Brick strong enough up through one of their windows?
I think they should do Spider-Man And His Amazing Friends, where He goes to college and he meets up with Iceman and Firestar (who should be the girl who plays Tori from Cobra Kai) and his Gwen Stacy should be the girl from The Descendants.
The version of the movie where Peter acted responsibly he becomes very sad. Almost depressed. Another phrase for depression is feeling blue. Which is why the working title of this movie was Blue Harvest.
Something I had not stopped thinking about since I saw this film. If no one remembers Peter Parker, SURELY they had the Infographic from the start of the film sat on a harddrive somewhere, if someone found that they would just shit themselves and cry
I feel like out of all 3 spidermen andrew is and has always been the most psyched to be spiderman but also the point of the great power line I feel like wouldve been so much better if in the MCU when tony recruits him in civil war tony gets the line cuz peter is doing stupid stuff with his powers so when tony asks him for help he sits him down and is like look kid ive learnt that if you have power you have a big responsibility
I am under the belief that the original plan for this phase was to be more connected to the events of Loki and Multiverse of Madness was supposed to feature Nightmare or Maphisto and Wanda's ability to traverse the multiverse because Kang is dead. Then that also leads into the spell going wrong. They should have linked all of this to Loki. Kangs death leads to America Chavez powers activate etc….instead we get angry depressed mom goes on killing spree and old wizard and angsty teen make a mess. There was no real over arching villain and that's the main problem.
Sony's quest to ruin everything Spiderman.
MCU Corn Coblin?

Thanks I always thought these movies were kinda corny to be honest
If Mason hates half arsed "with great power" speeches… I can't wait for the Madame Web video.
"IT'S GOOD ENOUGH". ?
This was really good guys! Bravo!!

I’ve been waiting for the abomination that is the ATLA movie, almost thought we’d never get here.
I like how Lizard is such an insignificant presence in this whole thing, I never see anyone in conversation about this movie bring up the fact that he inexplicably just has a British accent?!?! I was not expecting a CJ the X clip in my cool dapper Aussies video.

We needed Nicholas Hammond!
I loved how the FEAST logo copied the ONTARIO "Guys in a Hot Tub" thing.

The BEST part of this multiverse was the inclusion of Corn of Coblin
Why do people think the mcu will have its own green goblin or doc ock. The past movies have exclusively used new villains not seen before on the silver screen, and this movie outright confirms that none of these villains exist in the mcu
Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins wants its finale location back.
Iunno. I genuinely like it. Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much, but that's valid, too. Of course, I enjoy Wonder Woman 84, so my tastes are my own. ✌️
Paper mario sountrack? Goated
The internets obsession with switching up on games/movies will never fail to amaze me.
At first, really liked No Way Home. But, after seeing it a few times, have slightly soured on it. I feel the “real” Spider-Man doesn’t show up till the last ten minutes of this movie. The movie is good, but it's heavily fan service. People put it on a pedestal
Still gross that Rise of Skywalker made over a billion. Grosser still that I'm included in the blame.
I don't enjoy this movie like others do. The movie in my head is better. I like it well enough as a fan service movie, but it ruins things.
And yet still no Corn of Coblin appearance! He was robbed of his big moment.
Personally still love this movie.
Ask Tom Hollander if your version of the script is correct. I bet he has the script too along with that paycheck.
I still haven’t watched this movie all the way through
The version of the movie where Peter acted responsibly he becomes very sad. Almost depressed. Another phrase for depression is feeling blue. Which is why the working title of this movie was Blue Harvest.
(Give me credit this time dick)
Something I had not stopped thinking about since I saw this film. If no one remembers Peter Parker, SURELY they had the Infographic from the start of the film sat on a harddrive somewhere, if someone found that they would just shit themselves and cry
Well, it was Peter's fault. He messed up the whole spell ?
Corn of Coblin for the next trilogy
Whos the guy that says, "You're getting your dogshit sinister 6 movie wether you like it or not". I wanna see the rest of that video?
I'm so here for the dr. strange slander in this video because literally what the hell was he thinking throughout this whole movie

Did this movie just do the one spiderman meme where they are pointing at each other?
Yay! Done with little tom Holland and his silly voice; his best attribute
As someone who's taken the GED test it's hilarious to think a brilliant mind like Peter would need to study for it
I didn't even study for it. It an 8th-10th grade level exam
This movie is weird because it's simultaneously the best and worst movie in this trilogy
