“That’s not how I do things.” Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize your doctor could refuse to do something not because your life is in danger- but because she finds it icky.
At the age of 16 and 46 hours into my labor I really wish somebody would have suggested this to me but of course they would suggest that to a 16 year old. But honestly there worried for mine and my baby's Health should have came first before their judgment on me.
Spoiler alert: the laboring mother and expectant father eventually do get this medical advice from Dr. DeLuca despite Arizona’s initial refusal, because they exercise their right to a second opinion. They’re frustrated that Arizona withheld this information from them because of her own discomfort. The couple try it, and the baby comes very shortly thereafter, saving the laboring mom hours of excruciating pain in which any number of complications could have happened. Dr. DeLuca even highlights the problems with the American healthcare system when it comes to laboring mothers. Italy loses 4x fewer babies and mothers during pregnancy and labor than the US. Dr. DeLuca specifically has never lost a laboring mother or child in all her years of practice and is taken aback and a little horrified when a doctor as capable as Arizona admits to having lost her fair share of laboring moms and babies, which brings both of them to examine best practice and causes Arizona to design and submit an emergency birthing cart to enter into their competition for medical innovation.
thats why educating urself is so important when it comes to ur health…these simple advices are not harmful to anyone but very effective. worth the investment into yourselves ladies.

I’m sorry I didn’t realize sex in the hospital was legal??
Scientifically speaking, it isn't just the act of it that aids in labour. The … end result, on the man's side, actually stimulates the process.
20 hours?
Disgusting
