When you read this book,
you will be so chaotic like the writer.
I would not read it.
Republicans don't actually care about illegal immigrants. If they did, they would target the corporations hiring them with stiff penalties and prison sentences. Illegals in their giant farms and factories save them money! What they care about is vilifying immigrants to get scared/bigoted Americans to the polls and keep Republicans in power.
As I recall, while he was President, Mr. Trump employed undocumented aliens at virtually every property he owned.
why do we only talk about the southern border why doesn’t anybody ever mention all the people coming from other countries on airplanes and not leaving? Why do we only talk about the country that we stole land of our board across their property. I hate that I was born here. “It is NO measures of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society”.
No Borders No Nations No Slaves No Masters ???
A fraying coalition: Black, Hispanic, young voters abandon Biden as election year begins
In a new USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll, Biden's failure to consolidate his victorious 2020 support has left him narrowly trailing Trump.
The border issue is to stop funding to Ukraine. Full stop! The smoke screen is too get everybody to think it's for the campaign. Putin ordered someone?
Does his book mention how many Latin American immigrants are coming because Anerican and Canadian mining companies are buying up their land and forcing them north? Learned this from an El Paso NGO head.
It’s called greed!
Biden is airdropping aid supplies onto the beaches of Gaza while simultaneously American bombs are being dropped by Israel. And you decide to talk about immigration.
For the "right" immigration is a gift that keeps on giving. Fearmongering, demonizing and claiming that they are the only one who can "fix" it. In reality immigration levels are about the same under either party rule, maybe a dip or peek here and there. And the rules for foreign label have not really be tightened, because there is too much demand for it.
Fences and increased checks at border give the impression that they want to reduce immigration, but the lack of checks on companies or private persons for the use of non-registered immigrant for labour tells another story.
Here is an idea: keep an eye on México's coming presidential election and fingers crossed for Xóchitl. If she wins, she'll bring back law and order and common sense and goodwill and prosperity and we will not only keep our own people from leaving, we will also welcome migrants from further south to help our economy grow.
Yes. Over a century of foreign policy has destabilized and impoverished nations to America's south and caused enormous suffering and chaos.
You reap what you sow.
So, the big takeaway from this is that exploiting illegals helped to support the economy post covid and we don't have a plan to integrate them to prevent further exploitation. Did I get that right? When asked "how many immigrants CAN we integrate?" crickets. Absolutely no idea or answer.
This is the media we need, honest pros & cons.
Even if Trump gets into power, it still wont get fixed. He needs it to run, and they will need it after hes done.
Americans have a very difficult time implementing reforms. They still strictly adhere to laws from the 19th century
I may wish that Progressives had more say in the deal, but I know Republicans would never have voted for anything they even breathed on. The deal they rejected gave them everything they wanted, and even a lot of Republicans think it was dumb to reject it. Others have publicly supported Trump's ideas about aligator moats, electrified spikes, and shooting migrants. Voting for Trump means voting for Stephen Miller. It's a choice between not the best, and much worse than we can imagine.
How about if the countries that for centuries have supported dictators and exploited the neighbors in the south, including our immigration "problems" in Europe vs Africa and Spain vs the Americas, what if we helped those former colonies have industry, education, stable governments? What if we paid them back by investing in the south so people wouldn't feel the necessity to leave their home. We owe a debt to those we harmed over the centuries.
I do not understand Jon Stewart’s insistence on a hopeful interpretation of irresponsible and inhumane policies. This is clearly a hopeless situation, and the expert opinion that the expert has come to deliver should not be twisted in a way that makes the United States seem redeemable.
Hey commenters, the border got broken by executive order. The administration wants to fix it by congressional legislation with your tax dollars. And, they didn't even want to do that until the presidential election polling showed they were under water on immigration. Did I miss the part where Jon Stewart addressed that?
Is wolf his dad?
