They start racing at about 2 years old and they call him Big Red but they changed the name that post Secretariat it's just something they do in horse racing
Oh I’m so glad you loved it!! And really felt it!!! I still cry at the triple crown!!! So glad I got to see the real races on Tv!!! There’ll never be another Secretariat!!!!
MIRACLE is another really inspiring movie. YOu should really research the history of why the Miracle was the Miracle. the movie gives some of the history but does not do it justice.
They said years later after he passed away they discovered his heart was twice the size of other horses!!! I believe that’s where he got all that power and stamina!!!!
"Silverado" with Scott Glenn, Kevin Kostner, Kevin Kline (President Dave), Brian Dennehy (Rambo); Danny Glover (Leathal Weapon) , Jeff Goldblum, John Cleese,
What is so great about this movie is that, even if you have seen the races a dozen times, even if you watched them on TV as they happened back then, still when Secretariat is running the races in the movie, it is as if you're watching them live for the first time, getting all tense and shouting, "Come on, come on, let's go, let's go," you're excitement building all the time until the spectacular finish." Now, only a few more weeks until the Derby!
Gotta check out "Hidalgo"… Much like this movie, and "Sea Biscuit"… However… MUCH, MUCH more tedious long distance race in the desert… Hidalgo was the ONLY horse in the race that was NOT a purebred… Hidalgo's co star was Viggo Mortenson, AKA Aragorn from "Lord of the Rings"…
Longtime subscriber; I love the channel, but this thing where 40% of the video is trying to remember other movies the actors were in is hurting the quality of the reactions imo (just my two cents, if I’m the only one then you should ignore me)
When Secretariat passed away they did a necropsy (it's only called an autopsy for humans) and found that his heart was significantly larger than that of a normal horse. Normally an enlarged heart is a bad thing because it usually means that the cardiac muscles have been stretched out of shape. However in Secretariat's case he was simply born with a larger, stronger heart than that of a typical horse. This is probably why he could run so fast for the mile and a half distance of the Belmont Stakes and set a record for that distance that will probably stand forever.
I was in my 20s & a professional motorcycle racer on my way to racing cars. I had been competitive in other sports and loved all kinds of racing, including horses. Watching these races live on TV was like watching Muhammad Ali and The Beatles -, something other-worldly. But that race, that win, that day not only gave me chills, I wept… I knew the horses' thoughts as well as the jockeys. 32 lengths! I teared up again watching you 2 reacting. Great movie, great choice and a thoroughly wonderful reaction!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Shocking and sad that — in the leadup to the movie — people DIDN'T KNOW about Secretariat … arguably the GREATEST horse ever. He was and is the GREATEST Triple Crown winner EVER — he STILL holds ALL the track record times of EVERY jewel of the Triple Crown. And as an added bonus for our wonderful hostesses, Secretariat's jockey was Ron Turcotte — a Canadian. And Secretariat's trainer was Lucien Lauren — a French Canadian 🙂
Secretariat was just a phenomenal horse. You two were really into it like you were actually there, your hearts were probably racing faster than Secretariat lol.
Diane Lane, ❤️. Such a beauty plays tough, eloquent , classy and fierce so well here.
Ive never raced but ive taken a horse on a run its like riding the wind , youre flying , its scary, and excilarating being on a horse.
Great reaction
Next up definitely agree highly recommend Black Beauty.
This is a little out of left field but Spartacus with Kirk Douglas (Michael’s father) is an excellent film that you both should see. And yes, it does have a pretty great love story in it

I when Secretaiat was winning all those races; I was kid when Secretariat was winning.
Aww
If you like Diane Lane, consider the four part "Lonesome Dove" miniseries she was in. Please. You'll love it.
DRAGONFLY with Kevin Costner
THE GUARDIAN as well
Oh I’m so glad you loved it!!

National Velvet
It was discovered that Secretariat’s heart was 40-50 % larger than the average horse. Still
He’s the greatest racehorse ever !!
If you want to see, all of Secretariat's races are on you tube. They are thrilling.
Greatest athlete to ever cast a shadow.
Knew this was going to have you both smiling big time. Great film.
They said years later after he passed away they discovered his heart was twice the size of other horses!!!
I believe that’s where he got all that power and stamina!!!!
High school kids thought it was cool to watch horse racing because of this champion. Possibly the greatest American athlete of all time.
As i recall when secretariet died they did an autopsy and found that both the lungs and heart were larger than a normal horse.

You ladies should watch Dreamers with Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning , great horse racing movie .
When you have an inheritance (whether money, or anything of value) it is accounted as income and it is taxable.
THAT is why the 16th Amendment should be repealed.

If I remember correctly, this race ruined Sham. He finished last and never raced again.
The Triple Crown races: 3 races in 5 weeks. The Kentucky Derby, the Preakness and the Belmont Stakes.

"Grand Canyon" (1991) with Danny Glover, Kevin Kline, Steve Martin, Mary Mc donnell (Danse with Wolves) one of the best from the '90

Secretariat is the first to appear on the cover of TIME, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated in the same week.
Next, watch Hidalgo and Seabiscuit movies.

This was a very enjoyable movie about an amazing animal and the persons around this stallion.

Please do hidalgo next…I've noticed that there's almost no one reacting to hidalgo
Carly is hot
It's still no Seabiscuit
Great reaction! Secretariat was a better horse, but "Seabiscuit" is a better movie. You'd love it
